PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP, REDCAR
THE 2025 British Youth Championship continues at Redcar today (Saturday) both before and after the WSRA NDL clash between Middlesbrough and Leicester.
The 125cc Support class will race their third round at 2pm, and the 500cc class will compete in only their second round after the NDL fixture.
Callum Hague will be going for a hat-trick of wins in the 125cc Support class having already won Rounds 1 and 2 at Leicester and Belle Vue respectively, but he is sure to face tough competition from Douglas Marshall who top scored at the first round, and also Redcar Northern Junior League riders Seb Kelly and Jessica Cox.
10-year-old Rex Austin from Oxford makes his 125cc British Youth Championship debut today, which includes a total of eight riders in this class.
The 500cc class looks extremely strong with 11 riders competing, of which six ride in either or both of the NDL or NDT leagues.
Cooper Rushen will start as favourite in this class; however, he will face stiff opposition from home favourite Stene Pijper, and fresh from a 21-point paid maximum for the Steelers in the NDL only last week, Jamie Etherington, as well as Round 1 winner Ryan Ingram.
Dylan Huthwaite, based in Norwich makes his debut, and the meeting includes Seth Norman who rode in Poland on Tuesday in the European 250cc Pairs Championship and now moves up to make his 500cc debut.
The Young Lions would like to thank the Redcar promotion for their continued support of British Youth Speedway as well as their series sponsors.
Following today’s meeting the series moves on to Kent on July 20 where it will be a full round for all the classes.
