PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP, Kent

THE 2022 British Youth Championship gets underway today (Sunday) at Iwade after the Kent v Leicester NDL fixture.

The first round consists of the 500cc and 250cc classes, with the 125cc class to follow later in the season.

The 500cc class involves the Belle Vue Colt Sam McGurk, Leicester’s Vinnie Foord who is set for a busy afternoon, and two riders who competed in last season’s 250cc championship, Max James and Jody Scott.

The two-times 250cc British Champion Luke Harrison leads that class – but on a track he is not that familiar with he will have stiff competition from local 250cc riders Sonny Springer, William Cairns, Ashton Vale and Jamie Etherington.

After this round there are back-to-back full rounds at Edinburgh and Glasgow in two weeks’ time.

The Young Lions send their thanks to the Kent promotion for their support of British Youth Speedway and to all the series sponsors.
