PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP, BIRMINGHAM
BIRMINGHAM host Round 2 of the 2023 British Youth Championships at Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday) – with supporters being offered reduced admission to come and back the next generation of speedway riders.
Prices have been set at just £10 for adults and concessions with all Under-16s able to get in absolutely FREE to tie in with the Whitsun School half-term.
A total of 24 races are scheduled across the three classes, with the 500cc class featuring current NDL riders Ashton Boughen and Jody Scott.
Birmingham promoter Laurence Rogers is urging supporters to come and get behind the youngsters, tipping some of the names on show to carve a successful career on the shale further down the line.
He said: “Of those gracing our Perry Barr track on Wednesday, one wonders how many will make it to bigger and better things – you never know, we may be watching a future British World Champion in action.”
Meanwhile Young Lions chief Neil Vatcher said: “It is all set to be an action-packed evening full of young British talent, and of those of you have not seen a British Youth Championship round before I am sure you will be very impressed with the talent on show.”
