PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH, BELLE VUE
BELLE Vue host a British Youth Championship round tonight (Friday) which starts a busy period for the Young Lions with meetings to come at Leicester tomorrow and Birmingham on Monday.
The 250cc and 125cc sections are in action at the National Speedway Stadium where a British Championship title is up for grabs in both classes.
Three rounds at Workington, Plymouth and Redcar have taken place for the 250ccs with SGP3 Finalist Cooper Rushen leading the Championship so far, having managed to come out on top on two occasions.
However, during the qualifying heats Rushen has not had it all his own way and therefore the likes of Seth Norman, Archie Rolph and Ollie Binns will see an opportunity – if like last week at Redcar, where Norman won the Final, they can come out on top there is still time to make points up on the current leader.
In the 125cc class Oliver Bovingdon looks dominant having not dropped a point in any of his races so far; however, this class has only competed two rounds, and with four still to go again there is time for the chasing pack to make the points up.
In particular, Scottish representatives Lewis Hague and Rocco Webb will be looking at their home track of Edinburgh next month to try and make a challenge for this British title.
Nine riders compete in the 250cc class at Belle Vue tonight, and seven in the 125cc class, meaning an additional 18 heats taking place, and supporters are reminded that the first heat of the Youth Championship will take place at 6pm prior to the Belle Vue Colts versus Edinburgh Monarchs Academy WSRA NDL fixture.
The Young Lions would like to thank the Belle Vue promotion and the British Youth Championship series sponsors for their continued support of British Youth Speedway in 2024.
