BRITS IMPROVE IN SLOVAKIA

BRITISH 125cc riders Oliver Bovingdon and Charlie Luckman both enjoyed improved fortunes in their second event of the weekend at Zarnovica.

After a tough day on Saturday, next up at the Slovakian venue was the FIM 125cc Gold Trophy following on from the European competition 24 hours earlier, and Bovingdon scored a credible 12 points which included two race wins.

That meant he ended up in 11th position, whilst Luckman managed a score of four points and was placed in 20th.

Poland’s Franciszek Szczybra won the Gold Trophy with a maximum score of 20 points, following up his win in the Europeans 24 hours earlier also with an unbeaten score, with Germany’s Levi Bohme claiming the silver medal and Dawid Oscenda, also from Poland, taking bronze.

Bovingdon and Luckman now travel back to the UK to concentrate all their efforts on the 2024 British Youth Championship, with rounds at both Redcar and Workington this weekend.
