BIG WEEKEND FOR KATIE

18-YEAR-OLD Redcar Cubs racer Katie Gordon has the biggest weekend of her short career this weekend.

Gordon has been nominated by the ACU as their sole representative in the inaugural FIM Women in Motorcycling Speedway Ladies Cup taking place in Diedenbergen, Germany this Friday and Saturday.

Katie will be competing in this competition against fellow female riders from across Europe, including Germany’s Celina Liebmann who recently competed in the first round of the FIM SGP2 in Prague and scored a creditable four points.

GB Youth boss Neil Vatcher, who has been assisting Katie with this event said: “This is massively exciting for Katie to have this opportunity to not only ride against fellow female riders from across Europe, but to be part of this first female event that the FIM have put on is an honour, and I sure Katie will do us all proud.”
