PIRATES COULD DELAY

POOLE could be set for a one-week delay to the opening home fixture of their new era back at Championship level.

The Pirates are due to host Plymouth in a KO Cup clash on Wednesday May 26, but that start date may be pushed back into June as talks continue between club management, landlords and local authorities.

Co-promoter Dan Ford said: “We are working tirelessly with the relevant parties to ensure that there can be full and compliant adherence to the various restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We have further talks scheduled for later this week when it is anticipated that we will be in a position to give our supporters confirmation as to whether we have to move our opening home meeting or not.”
