PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v BERWICK (MAXiCAB KO CUP FINAL)

PLYMOUTH host Berwick in the second leg of the MAXiCab KO Cup Final tonight (Saturday) as the last item of silverware this season at Championship level is decided.

The Bandits head south in a strong position having won the opener 58-32 a fortnight ago in their bid to win the trophy for the first time since 1989.

The Gladiators are without Daniel Klima who is racing in the European Pairs, with Vinnie Foord stepping in to guest, whilst the visitors will be backed by over 300 travelling fans and have Senna Summers stepping in for the injured Jack Smith.

Bandits boss Stewart Dickson could create a little history by becoming the first team manager to win the KO Cup in both senior leagues in the same season, after previously being successful at Premiership level with Leicester.

Dickson said: “It will be a tough night. Plymouth race their track well and will be looking to get amongst us early on.

“I know from the Premiership how easy it is for momentum to go against you, but also the problem of pulling back such a lot of points.

“The pressure is definitely on Plymouth, and I need my riders to be focussed and use all their experience to weather the storm and help their team-mates if the going gets tricky.

“They all have a job to do. If we avoid last places we will win the Cup. It’s that simple and that difficult at the same time.”

PLYMOUTH: Scott Nicholls, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Ben Barker, Danny King, Anze Grmek, Ben Whalley.

BERWICK: Peter Kildemand, Jye Etheridge, Victor Palovaara, Reid Battye, Nick Morris, Senna Summers, Jordan Jenkins.

SCB Referee: Chris Durno
