PREVIEW: BRITISH U19 FINAL, PLYMOUTH

NORTHAMPTON and Scunthorpe racer Luke Harrison defends his British Under-19 title at Plymouth tonight (Saturday).

Harrison, who was successful at Workington last season, is one of the favourites for a meeting which sees all of the 2025 top four taking part once again.

In-form Jody Scott seeks his first title after being runner-up last year whilst Cooper Rushen, third in 2025, is going for the double after winning the Under-21 title earlier this season – and Will Cairns will look to improve on last year’s fourth place.

Harrison said: “It would be nice to win it again really, but we’ll see what happens.

“There’s a few riders who are more than capable of winning it and who are obviously going to put up a fight, so we’ll just have to see how it goes and hopefully I can retain the title.”

Championship regulars Jordy Loftus and Ryan Ingram will compete the list of tonight’s favourites to be crowned the latest British Champion.

15-year-olds Seth Norman and Casper Kluczniak will be the youngest riders in the line-up and will make their British Under-19 Final debuts along with 16-year-olds Ollie Binns and Emerson Betty, as well as Liam Greens (17) and 19-year-old Anika Loftus who will be the first female rider competing in a major British Final.

Former Plymouth Centurions Ingram and Charlie Southwick will have the support of the home faithful, with Oxford Chargers’ Ashton Vale and Harry Fletcher – and Middlesborough’s Stene Pijper, who won the 500cc British Youth Championship last Sunday complete a very competitive line-up.
