PREVIEW: REDCAR v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

REDCAR head into last chance saloon for their play-off hopes when they host already qualified Glasgow at the ECCO Arena tonight (Friday).

The Bears need to take maximum points from their final two Cab Direct Championship fixtures and hope Scunthorpe lose their last two, whilst also overturning a race points difference deficit which currently stands at 71 in the Scorpions’ favour.

Nicolai Klindt makes a return to Redcar colours guesting for Charles Wright who is on World Cup duty with Great Britain, whilst the Tigers bring in Anders Rowe for Leon Flint who is missing for the same reason.

The visitors’ more long-term absences of Kyle Howarth and Mario Hausl are covered by Drew Kemp and Reid Battye, as they look to do enough to hold on to second place in the standings.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “It’s been very hit and miss with us with guests so far this season. But all three of these lads have raced well for us or at Redcar recently. 

“So we go with the belief that we can do the job. It’s also up to our own riders to find a better level. We’ve not been firing on all cylinders at all, that needs to change immediately. 

“Redcar are a very good side. But they are also missing Charles Wright who is at the World Cup with Leon. But our boys can ride their place so we have a chance in my opinion. 

“We definitely need to win our remaining two meetings to finish second in the league behind Poole. That’s a key objective right now.”
