EURO CHALLENGE FOR YOUNGSTERS

BRITISH Youth riders Archie Rolph and Oli Bovingdon compete in today’s FIM European 250cc Challenge taking place at the Zarnovica track in Slovakia.

This year’s 250cc European Championship has taken a different format; whereas in previous seasons it has been two semi-finals with the top eight qualifying for the Final, this year eight riders have been seeded direct to the Final which also takes place at Zarnovica on Sunday, and the top eight from today’s Challenge complete the Final line-up.

Rolph, who qualified for this year’s SGP3 Final and finished in a creditable eighth place, and Bovingdon, who just missed out on a SGP3 Final appearance by losing a run-off in the semi-final, will need to target a minimum of eight points to make a top eight finish at the massive 400 metre circuit to make tomorrow’s Final.
