Berwick Bandits v Redcar Bears

DEPLETED Berwick fought back from six points down to defeat Redcar 46-44 in a Cab Direct Championship thriller at Shielfield Park.

Nick Morris scored a 15-point maximum for the Bandits and he won the crucial Heat 15 with Jye Etheridge (11) taking the all-important third place to edge the home side to victory.

They were also superbly served at reserve by Reid Battye who piled up 13+4 from seven rides as they recovered from 18-24 down.

Reserve Simon Lambert top-scored for the Bears with 11+1, and Charles Wright and Jake Allen both scored ten as they held on for the aggregate point.

But their play-off hopes now require a major mathematical swing in results, with Edinburgh and Glasgow now confirmed along with Poole in the top four.
