PREVIEW: OXFORD v PLYMOUTH (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

OXFORD and Plymouth clash at Cowley tonight (Wednesday) with both teams looking to move up from the bottom three in the Cab Direct Championship.

The Cheetahs experienced a tough Northern tour last weekend, going down to defeats at Glasgow and Berwick, whilst back-to-back home losses have damaged the Gladiators’ play-off aspirations, dropping them to seventh in the table.

The aggregate point is also at stake tonight with the visitors holding an 11-point lead, but they are still without injured duo Danny King and Ben Barker, with Chris Harris and Jason Edwards coming in to guest.

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “Fortunes can change very quickly in the Cab Direct Championship, you only have to look at the Plymouth vs Redcar result from Saturday night and how that could change the season for those two sides.

“We’re not where we want to be in the league, but again that could change quite quickly. We won our last home meeting to Redcar and we want to continue that run.

“Against Plymouth, we need to win – we need to do that in all our home meetings. Following that, the aggregate point is a bonus – although of course, we will chase that as well. But winning is the main target.”

OXFORD: Sam Masters, Luke Killeen, Edward Kennett, Mitch McDiarmid, Anders Rowe, Darryl Ritchings, Dayle Wood.

PLYMOUTH: Chris Harris, Joe Thompson, Daniel Klima, Jason Edwards, Scott Nicholls, Anze Grmek, Ben Whalley.
