BRENNAN INTO SEC CHALLENGE

IPSWICH star Tom Brennan is through to the Speedway Euro Championship Challenge after an impressive display in Saturday’s qualifier at Stralsund.

Brennan, who rode in the full series last year with a nominated place, recovered from a no-score in his second ride to total 11 points, including three race wins.

That took him through as the fourth of five qualifiers in a meeting won by former Workington and Swindon favourite Rasmus Jensen.

Brennan said: “I’m so happy to have qualified for the SEC Challenge. Having always fallen a point short (in the past), going through today in a pretty solid qualifier feels like a such a win to us. I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work.”

Brennan now proceeds to the SEC Challenge at Italian venue Lonigo on June 13.

Meanwhile Sheffield and Glasgow’s Leon Flint also put in a strong performance in the Mureck qualifier as he scored nine points, finishing just two places adrift of the top five.
