ETHERINGTON STEPS UP WITH COMETS

WORKINGTON have completed their 2026 line-up by handing teenager Jamie Etherington a first team place in the Cab Direct Championship.

The 16-year-old rode for Steelers and Kent in the Development leagues last season, and he has a place with Buxton in the NDL alongside his Comets commitments.

Promoter Andrew Bain said: “Jamie is a really exciting talent and we are delighted to welcome him to Workington this season.

“I’ve made it clear to him there is no pressure to deliver match-winning performances, but we feel he certainly has the capability to score valuable points from reserve alongside Vinnie (Foord).”
