CAPTAIN COOK LEADS PIRATES

POOLE captain Zach Cook will be back for their Cab Direct Championship title defence next season.

Cook led the Pirates to a league and Cup double in 2025 but his future involvement had been called into question due to commitments elsewhere.

However, the Australian believes he has unfinished business with the club and has concluded a deal with promoters Matt and Dan Ford.

Dan said: “When Zach first told us of his plans not to do the Championship next season,  we knew we would have to work on him as we were absolutely determined to get him back on board.

“He is a fantastic captain, a brilliant team rider, leads by example and is very much someone who always delivers when the big meetings come around. Quite simply he is impossible to replace.”
