HOLDER COLLARBONE BLOW

SHEFFIELD star Chris Holder faces a race against time to be fit for the Australian Championship after a recent crash in Albury-Wodonga.

The former World Champion suffered a broken collarbone, three fractured ribs and bruising to his lungs when he came to grief during last weekend’s Ashley Jones Memorial.

It could put him out of action for up to a month, with the national series set to get underway at the same venue on January 3.

New coach of Holder’s Polish team Ostrow, Tomasz Bajerski said: “There is really nothing happening that makes us worry about his form for the season in Europe.

“Perhaps this injury will only affect Chris Holder’s calendar of performances in the Individual Australian Championships.”
