CHEETAHS STAGE ADDITIONAL MEETING

OXFORD have announced an extra meeting on October 23 with a special four-team tournament featuring their own side and three currently inactive clubs.

The  Cheetahs returned to the sport to great acclaim in 2022 following a break of 15 years, and the meeting will feature teams representing Coventry, Swindon and Wolverhampton.

There are efforts ongoing to bring back all three, who were all successful operations lost to the sport in the last decade for reasons of stadium availability.

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “We wanted one more meeting at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium this season. We didn’t want to finish our home meetings on September 28, while we were well aware that most of the supporters have not seen our victorious Chargers since they won the WSRA National Development League at Middlesbrough.

“But it’s not just about Oxford Speedway. The meeting is also to highlight Swindon, Coventry and Wolverhampton.

“We are in the process of putting together a line-up of some star names plus riders with connections to the clubs. Our thanks to BetGoodwin for sponsoring this meeting.”
