Oxford Cheetahs v Poole Pirates

HOLDERS Poole cruised into another BSN Series Final with a 52-38 win at Oxford for a thumping aggregate triumph by a 40-point margin.

The Pirates only required 33 points on the night to secure their progression and they were safely through as early as Heat 9, by which time they had already established a ten-point lead in the second leg.

Richard Lawson continued his rich vein of form with 14 points, only being denied a maximum by home skipper Sam Masters in Heat 15. Captain Zach Cook added 9+2 with Anders Rowe on nine.

Masters top-scored for the Cheetahs with 13 from six rides, and Poole will now race either Glasgow or Redcar in the Final.

Pirates manager Neil Middleditch said: “We came here to do a job and the lads have more than delivered tonight.”
