SCORPIONS WIN, COMETS SNATCH POINT

SCUNTHORPE returned to form with a 58-32 thumping of Workington in the Cab Direct Championship – but they were remarkably denied the aggregate point.

The Comets suffered a second heavy defeat at the Eddie Wright Raceway this season, but a 5-1 in Heat 15 from Troy Batchelor and Antti Vuolas meant the final result matched their own win at the GT Tyres Arena recently.

And in the Super Heat, Vuolas and Batchelor got the job done again over Jake Allen and Steve Worrall to ensure the Comets left with some reward.

The Scorpions still move up to fourth in the table, although teams behind them have matches in hand, and they provided 12 race winners led by Allen (11) and Worrall (10), with Batchelor and Vuolas both scoring 10+1 for the visitors.
