PREVIEW: WORKINGTON v REDCAR (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

WORKINGTON bid to extend their impressive recent run when they host Redcar at the GT Tyres Arena tonight (Saturday, 6pm).

The Comets have raced to home wins over Poole and Scunthorpe on the last two weekends, as well as becoming the first team this season to take an aggregate point against the Pirates.

And they are boosted by being able to declare a full-strength team despite recent injury concerns for Tate Zischke and Vinnie Foord, whilst the Bears track Jonatan Grahn and Paco Castagna as guests for Jake Mulford (international duty) and Erik Riss (illness).

Comets boss James Denham said: “We’re taking nothing for granted. They did a good job on us home and away earlier in the season. But I feel like we’re starting to find our groove now – we’re a completely different team to the one we were then.

“I still believe there’s more to come from us, and Wednesday night against Poole showed that. We came so close to the win on the night, but I think the aggregate point was a fair reflection over the two legs

“If we all carry this form into Saturday night, we know what we’re capable of – and with the home crowd behind us, we’re confident we can get the job done.”
