PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v IPSWICH (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
ROWE Motor Oil Premiership leaders Ipswich visit local rivals King’s Lynn tonight (Monday) looking to avenge previous results this year at the Adrian Flux Arena.
The Witches, who are four points clear at the top, lost 51-39 on their last visit to Norfolk and also suffered a six-point KO Cup reverse at the same venue.
They face a Stars side who have injury issues with Niels-Kristian Iversen ruled out due to rib damage after a crash in Sweden last week, whilst Ben Cook is also missing with further wrist issues.
Simon Lambert comes in to guest with rider replacement for Iversen, whilst the Witches bring in Jason Edwards once again to guest for their injured Rising Star Jordan Jenkins.
King’s Lynn boss Rob Lyon said: “We understand Ben’s position and we all saw what happened at Birmingham. He wants to come back, he doesn’t want to end it here, and he’s said he’s happy to come back to us.
“With Niels we’ve had to take it day by day and unfortunately having spoken to him on Sunday, he isn’t going to be ready to race on Monday, and in this case we were able to leave it because we’d already established there were no suitable guest options.
“It’s another difficult situation, but we know Simon will give it his all and the rest of the boys will be determined to put on a big performance against the odds.”
Ipswich manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “It’s our last visit to Lynn this season, it is not massively vital in terms of our league position, but we have got the local rivalry, and we want to get on top of them ahead of Thursday night, which is a massive meeting at home in the Cup.
“We have not travelled there with the best of circumstances with the team with injuries and what not, but we are getting back to full fitness. We are not there yet, but we are in great form.”
