PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

KING’S Lynn head to Birmingham tonight (Monday) at the start of a pivotal week in their bid to reach the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-offs.

The Stars are chasing Leicester in the race for the top four, and victory at Perry Barr would move them to within two points of the Lions ahead of their meeting in the East Midlands on Thursday.

Lynn boss Rob Lyon is boosted by news of a full-strength team as Jan Kvech came through his meeting in Poland on Sunday having missed out at Belle Vue last week with a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile the Brummies include Ben Barker at reserve for the first time and are looking to bounce back from a dismal defeat at Oxford last Thursday.

Lyon said: “I do feel that with Jan in the side we would have been coming away from Belle Vue with a win, but we can’t control that, that’s speedway.

“So we look forward to Birmingham away which is a meeting that we do need to win, and that would give us three points.

“Then we can look ahead to Leicester, but it’s one meeting at a time and we have a job to do first on Monday.”

Birmingham manager Chris Adams said: “Certainly, we need to up our game. Our performances need to be better than our last two in particular for sure.

“This King’s Lynn meeting is one we need to win.”
