BRITS NINTH IN GDANSK
LACK of quality bike time in 2025 proved costly for Great Britain duo Archie Rolph and Seth Norman in the first round of the European 250cc Pairs held in Gdansk on Tuesday.
British Youth Boss Neil Vatcher said: “As expected the effort of both Archie and Seth couldn’t be faulted; however, unfortunately gating was key on the slick Polish circuit, and the British pair struggled to get off the starts all afternoon.
“Anyone that has experienced coming to Europe for these events knows the levels that must be reached and it is extremely hard competition, therefore for any rider who gives two or three bike lengths away by the first corner it is nigh on impossible to make an impression.
“It is no-one’s fault but due to the British Youth Championship not really getting underway yet, and a number of practice sessions being postponed, you could see how rusty both the British boys were from the start, and as I say that proved vital.
“That said, again it was valuable experience, and the boys will learn from it.
“There are a further two rounds to come in August and September and by then the boys will have had loads more track time.”
The first round was won by Poland, with Germany claiming second and Slovenia were third. Great Britain scored six points and were ninth overall.
