KURTZ CELEBRATES FIRST GP WIN

BELLE Vue captain Brady Kurtz secured his first-ever Grand Prix win with his Aces team-mate Dan Bewley third in Gorzow on Saturday.

Aussie star Kurtz got the better of World Champion and track specialist Bartosz Zmarzlik in the Final of Round 6 of the series for a result which leaves him 11 points behind the Pole overall with four GPs remaining this season.

Bewley’s result was also positive as he is fourth in the standings, six points adrift of third placed Fredrik Lindgren who missed out in Saturday’s Final.

Kurtz said: “I’ve lost out in the Final so many times that I didn’t know if it was ever coming. I don’t really know what to say.

“We have worked so hard for this and it’s so nice that it has happened, and I finally got the job done in the Final.

“It’s nice to beat Bartek anytime on any track. I said to him that he got me twice last week on my home track in Manchester. I have only got him once, so I still have some more to go.”

Kurtz and Bewley will both be back for Belle Vue in their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash with King’s Lynn on Monday at the National Speedway Stadium.
