PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v IPSWICH (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

ROWE Motor Oil Premiership leaders Ipswich visit King’s Lynn tonight (Monday) in a big East Anglian derby as the home side look to close in on the top four.

The Stars picked up five points out of five last week and a further success against the Witches, who they beat by six points in the KO Cup recently, would take the closer to Leicester in the play-off race.

King’s Lynn operate rider replacement for Ben Cook who returned from injury in Poland yesterday but has now been signed out for a further seven days, whilst Jody Scott continues at reserve.

Ipswich are set to welcome back Jason Doyle who has missed their last three matches with hip damage, whilst Connor Mountain again stands in for the injured Dan Thompson at reserve.

Stars boss Rob Lyon said: “We’re looking forward to it, and I’m sure it will be a great meeting.

“It’s all about what we do, we’ve got the riders to do it, and I think we showed that against Oxford.

“There’s quite a way to go yet in the season, we’re not yet halfway through, so there’s a lot of speedway to race yet. There will be a number of big matches and this is one of them that we definitely want to win.”

Witches manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We were there not long ago so that is good, and we had a good meeting although we came away disappointed not to win, but we are coming with confidence that we can win this time.

“We haven’t lost in the league to them in a long time, so we need to keep that record going.

“Doyley is a leader in the team and someone everyone looks up to. He has been to a few meetings with us, but when he is riding in the team we are a slightly different animal, so hopefully he will be back, but the main thing is that he is fit.”

KING’S LYNN: Richard Lawson, Ben Cook r/r, Nicolai Klindt, Chris Harris, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Jan Kvech, Jody Scott.
IPSWICH: Emil Sayfutdinov, Danny King, Adam Ellis, Tom Brennan, Jason Doyle, Connor Mountain, Jordan Jenkins.
