PREVIEW: HARBOUR MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP, POOLE
INCOMING Poole rider Will Cairns has been ruled out of tonight’s (Wednesday) National League Riders’ Development Individual event at Wimborne Road.
Cairns, who is set to join the Pirates when he turns 16 later this month, suffered a hand injury in a crash at Belle Vue on Sunday and is not fit to take his place in the Harbour Masters Championship.
But the club are still anticipating an exciting encounter with plenty of top young talent on track including former Pirates racer Vinnie Foord, and 15-year-old Cooper Rushen who was close to a rostrum place in last weekend’s SGP3 Final.
Poole promoter Dan Ford said: “It’s a major blow for Will who was really looking forward to the meeting and of course it is a great disappointment not to have him in the line-up.
“We have moved to bring in Paul Starke as a replacement so both our present reserves will be in action, and undoubtedly there are others in the field looking to impress on us for future contracts.”
LINE-UP: Max James, Paul Starke, Ashton Vale, Sonny Springer, Jacob Clouting, Cooper Rushen, Jamie Etherington, Vinnie Foord, Ben Morley, Ben Trigger, Arran Butcher, Mickie Simpson, Darryl Ritchings, Eli Meadows, Charlie Southwick, Nathan Hargrave.
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
