RUSHEN INTO SGP3 FINAL

GREAT Britain youngster Cooper Rushen has won his semi-final of the FIM SGP3 competition and will now compete for the title itself in Prague on Friday.

15-year-old Rushen, who rides for Leicester and King’s Lynn in the Development leagues in the UK, overcame a first-bend crash at Slovenian venue Krsko to score 13 points and head the qualifiers for what is effectively the World Youth Championship.

He said: “To go and win the SP3 Qualifiers, I’m speechless.

“I had a big first bend bunching crash so have to rebuild a bike this week, but we will be ready for Prague.”

Rushen will be the sole GB representative in the Final as fellow youngsters Seth Norman and Archie Rolph were unable to make it through the second semi-final, although both will have benefited from the experience.
