CUP PROGRESS FOR CHEETAHS

OXFORD are through to the MAXiCab KO Cup semi-finals after successfully defending their first leg advantage at Scunthorpe on Friday.

The Cheetahs took a 20-point lead into the clash at the Eddie Wright Raceway and although the Scorpions raced to a 48-42 win on their own circuit, it was not enough to overturn the aggregate position.

Luke Harrison’s return to the reserve berth for Scunthorpe proved hugely successful as he racked up 16+3 from seven rides, including a 5-1 with Steve Worrall (12) in Heat 15 which confirmed victory on the night.

The visitors did a solid job and confirmed their progression with three races remaining, as Sam Masters top scored on 12 whilst reserve Mitch McDiarmid impressed again with 9+1 from four outings.
