LYDEN SIDELINED

EDINBURGH Monarchs Academy rider Kyran Lyden faces time out with multiple fractures after a crash at Armadale on Saturday.

Lyden was in the wars during the Academy’s win over Belle Vue in the WSRA National Development League, and it will now be later in the summer before he can contemplate a comeback.

He said: “I’ve battered myself a bit, it’s uncomfortable. I went to hospital, I’ve fractured my fingers, my skull, my back in two places and my neck.

“I fell three times, but I think the last one was the one which did the damage. I thought I was all right at first.

“I’ve got a neck collar on at the minute, I’ve got to wear it for six weeks. I’m going to see a spine specialist tomorrow. I’ll be off work for a bit I am afraid.

“That last crash was my own fault, the others were just racing incidents.”
