REACTION: BRITISH SEMI-FINAL
BRITISH Semi-Final rostrum finishers Drew Kemp and Leon Flint were both delighted to book their progression to the Final from Leicester on Thursday.
Kemp finished second on the night with an impressive 14-point haul, beaten only by meeting winner Dan Thompson, and he says some extra practice on his home track in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership paid dividends.
He said: “I had a couple of tough weeks for Leicester but when you’re winning races in the Championship it boosts your confidence and you can bring that into meetings like tonight, and into the Premiership.
“I came up here last week and did a bit of testing, which made my mind a lot clearer, and to then put into practice what I did in that test was good.”
Meanwhile Flint won his first race and then showed good consistency with a string of second places to also make it comfortably through.
He said: “I kind of knew ten points would be enough but it was a really difficult night, nothing came easy.
“But anyways, we’re through to the Final so we can start planning for that. Hopefully I can upset a few people, go out there and do what I can.
“I love riding at Belle Vue and it’s obviously a big meeting that I’ve missed out on the last couple of years, so I’m really excited.”
