PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v BIRMINGHAM (NDT)

KING’S Lynn stage their opening home fixture in the National Development Trophy when they host Birmingham at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Wednesday).

The Young Stars are chasing a double after winning 48-41 at Perry Barr recently, whilst the Bulls are forced into a change with Max James currently out of action after leaving Championship club Edinburgh.

They have moved to add Connor Coles to their line-up as a temporary signing, and he comes in at No.1 with Tom Spencer moving to No.5.

King’s Lynn manager Jason Pipe said: “It’s been a while since a Young Stars team has been on track around the Adrian Flux Arena, so it would be good if the fans turn out in good numbers to support the boys.

“All the boys are really excited and looking forward to getting out on to their home track and to try and do the double.

“We need to gain these three points on Wednesday to give us a bit of a lead at the top of the table and then let the other teams try to catch us. It’s much easier to be on top being chased rather than you being the chasers!”

Bulls boss Laurence Rogers said: “Connor is only riding for Edinburgh in the NDL at the moment with no Championship spot yet. He needs more track time so has accepted our offer.

“We will reassess the situation when Max has served his suspension as he wants to be back as soon as he can.”
