JAMES QUITS MONARCHS
EDINBURGH are searching for a replacement reserve after youngster Max James informed the club he wishes to stand down from the side for the foreseeable future.
The Monarchs have been granted a 28-day facility and have booked Dayle Wood to guest in Friday’s home match against Glasgow in the BSN Series, but they say they will attempt to fill the vacancy as soon as possible.
Co-promoter John Campell told edinburghmonarchs.co.uk: “Max sounded very down when I spoke to him. He’s clearly had a crisis of confidence and has been worrying about upcoming meetings.
“It’s a shame that it has come to this as he showed such promise when he joined us, but maybe that crash at Birmingham a couple of weeks ago was the final straw for him.
“We all hope that Max can recover his confidence and return to racing in due course. We wish him all the best for the future.”
