PREVIEW: POOLE v PLYMOUTH (BSN SERIES)
BSN Series holders Poole finally open their home campaign tonight (Wednesday) when they host Plymouth at Wimborne Road.
The Pirates were frustrated by the weather on Good Friday but they already have two points on the board from their Super Heat triumph at Oxford, whilst the Gladiators were beaten at home by the Cheetahs at the Coliseum on Saturday.
Visitors’ No.1 Nicolai Klindt makes his first return to Poole since riding for the club during their last seasons at Premiership level in 2018-19.
Pirates promoter Dan Ford said: “It was a good result for us at Oxford, and from that meeting alone we can see that there is a great deal more to come from this side.
“I know they are keen to get going in front of a home crowd and just as we have with Oxford, there is always the bragging rights to go for when we ride against Plymouth.
“It is a few years since Nicolai last rode here for us in the Premiership, but we saw then what he is capable of as he regularly returned double figures, and I am convinced that they will be aiming to put us to the sword.”
POOLE: Richard Lawson, Tobias Thomsen, Anders Rowe, Zach Cook, Lewis Kerr, Paul Starke, Matt Marson.
PLYMOUTH: Nicolai Klindt, Alfie Bowtell, Mitchell Cluff, Joe Thompson, Ben Barker, Lasse Fredriksen, Ben Trigger.
SCB Referee: Simon Humphrey-Kennett
