WITCHES REMEMBER SANDERS
IPSWICH will pay tribute to club legend Billy Sanders with a special second half following this Thursday’s ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash with Birmingham.
This week (April 23) marks 40 years since former World No.2 Sanders took his own life, and whilst he was most associated with the Witches during his racing career, he also had a spell with the Brummies in the late 1970s.
The top four scorers from each team on Thursday will compete in a three-race ‘Champion of the Evening’ event sponsored by Tru7 Group.
There will be Billy Sanders memorabilia on display on the terraces courtesy of Nigel Gabbitas which includes Billy’s 1979 World Final Weslake when he finished fifth. The Samaritans will also be in attendance on the evening at Foxhall.
