PREVIEW: OXFORD v LEICESTER / LEICESTER v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

OXFORD are looking to kick-start their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season when they face Leicester in an Easter double today (Monday).

The two sides meet at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium at 1pm with the return at the Lions’ Hydroscand Arena at 7.30pm.

Peter Kildemand makes his return from injury for the Spires, who bring in Tom Brennan to guest for Maciej Janowski who is away at the Polish Golden Helmet in his home country.

Manager Peter Schroeck said: “We will be looking to turn it around for the Leicester home meeting on Easter Monday.

“For that meeting, I urge the supporters to please come along and persuade any friends to attend as well, so that can we have a big crowd to get right behind the lads and kick-start the season for Spires.”

Meanwhile Leicester had a debut to new signing Dan Gilkes, who has replaced Sam Hagon in the Rising Star berth and will start on what is also his home track in the Championship.

Gilkes said: “When the phone rang on Friday morning it was a no-brainer. Leicester is a track that’s only up the road and I’ve always got on with Stewart (Dickson).

“It will be good to meet the other boys on Monday and hopefully hit the ground running. I’m looking forward to working alongside the likes of Max Fricke, as you don’t get that opportunity every day.

“It’s going to be weird to be on the other end of the pits at Oxford, but really it’s the perfect situation for me because I’m going to a track that I’m comfortable on, although it’s another level up.”

OXFORD: Rohan Tungate, Erik Riss, Charles Wright, Peter Kildemand, Tom Brennan, Francis Gusts, Luke Killeen.

LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Dan Gilkes.

SCB Referee: Michael Breckon (at Oxford) / Gary Allen (at Leicester)
