PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v REDCAR (BSN SERIES)

SCUNTHORPE stage their first home team meeting of 2025 when they host Redcar in the BSN Series today (Friday, 3pm).

The Scorpions were defeated Finalists in the competition last season and are targeting another run towards the closing stages.

It’s part of a big double header at the Eddie Wright Raceway as the newly renamed Steelers also take on Middlesbrough in the WSRA National Development League.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It’s now all systems go for the season, as we welcome Redcar in the first match of our BSN Series qualifying group. It’s always a thrilling meeting between the two sides and I’m fully expecting that again.

“We managed to get all the way to the Final of the BSN Series last year so that will again be the target.”

Redcar star Danny King said: “Erik (Riss) is in good form at the moment, as is Charles (Wright) and I’m also riding well, so there’s no reason why we can’t go there and get something out of it.”

SCUNTHORPE: Steve Worrall, Luke Harrison, Simon Lambert, Connor Mountain, Jake Allen, Declan Kennedy, Zaine Kennedy.

REDCAR: Charles Wright, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Danny King, Erik Riss, Jody Scott, Tom Spencer.

SCB Referee: Willie Dishington
