LIONS EXPECT BRUM TEST
LEICESTER manager Stewart Dickson says the team building moves from Midlands rivals Birmingham will make for a tough test for his side in the Premiership KO Cup.
The sides are set to meet in their quarter-final tie to kick off the official season in late March and Dickson views the Brummies’ recent signing of Danish star Michael Jepsen Jensen as a statement of intent.
He said: “It was always a good Cup draw for us, and I know Birmingham were happy with it too because it’s a local derby and there’s a strong rivalry between us.
“But I think it’s fair to say the tie has become a lot tastier in the last 48 hours or so with their team news.
“I don’t know everything about Jepsen Jensen, but I know he is a very capable rider, and it makes them look a much more solid side.
“I never felt it would be an easy passage to the semi-finals, but now we will need to work hard and race well to earn the right to meet Sheffield.”
