ETHERIDGE IN COMETS SWITCH

WORKINGTON have signed Australian racer Jye Etheridge who ends a lengthy association with Berwick to make the move to the GT Tyres Arena.

Etheridge has raced for the Bandits at Cab Direct Championship level since 2017, but he now joins the Comets on a 4.98 average.

Promoter Andrew Bain said: “Once again we think this could be a very shrewd signing.

“Jye has shown what a quality rider he can be home and away in the past. We think he is coming on a steal of an average, plus Northside is his type of track.

“He has ridden for Belle Vue in the past in the Premiership, which is a similar track, so if he recoups some of his form from there we will certainly reap the rewards.”
