COMETS CONFIRM TOP FOUR SPOT

WORKINGTON clinched the final Cab Direct Championship play-off place with a 54-36 win over Plymouth at the GT Tyres Arena.

The Comets took all three points from the meeting and are now uncatchable in fourth place, and they will head to Poole for the first leg of the play-off semi-final on Wednesday.

Guest Josh Pickering scored a four-ride 11+1 paid maximum for the home side with Troy Batchelor (13+1) and Antti Vuolas (10+1) also in double figures.

Meanwhile Dan Thompson wrapped up a hugely impressive first season in Plymouth colours with a 15-point haul from seven rides.
