PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
KING’S Lynn commence a busy run of home matches as they host Oxford in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Thursday).
The Stars won at Birmingham on Monday and a series of wins on their own circuit could see them close in on the Spires in the table.
The visitors are still mathematically in the running for a top four finish but matters are out of their hands in that respect and are likely to be resolved tonight.
The home side track Richard Lawson as a guest for the injured Nicolai Klindt, with rider replacement in operation for Benjamin Basso who is suspended. Meanwhile Niels-Kristian Iversen is ruled out with illness and Simon Lambert steps in.
Lynn Rising Star Anders Rowe said: “We’ve had a real up and down season with injuries and things like that.
“But now with the team we’ve got, we’ve got a good atmosphere and everything, it’s a good bunch of guys who all work together and it’s good fun.
“Everyone at King’s Lynn, including the fans, hasn’t had the easiest of seasons so we want to do as well as we can, try and put on a good show and win as much as possible.”
Oxford will operate rider replacement for Rohan Tungate who is not fit despite trying to return in Sweden on Tuesday, and they have Ben Trigger guesting at reserve for Luke Killeen after the latter crashed on Wednesday.
Manager Peter Schroeck said: “Of course, we wanted Spires to reach the play-offs, but we still want to secure fifth place in the table in our final two meetings, which would be a very respectable finish in our first season in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.”
