PREVIEW: OXFORD v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

OXFORD can confirm their Cab Direct Championship play-off place with a win over top four hopefuls Glasgow at Cowley tonight (Wednesday).

The Cheetahs impressively ended Poole’s unbeaten home run when they were victorious at Wimborne Road last week, and they now face the defending champions twice in the space of 48 hours.

Glasgow start the meeting fifth in the table, five points behind Workington with three matches in hand, and realistically the Tigers are likely to need three wins from their final four fixtures, along with aggregate points, to make the play-offs.

Oxford track Connor Coles at reserve in place of the injured Adam Roynon, whilst Glasgow again bring in Tom Spencer with Jason Garrad sidelined.

Cheetahs boss Peter Schroeck said: “It’s always an exciting meeting when Glasgow visit us – the Cup match earlier in the season was a cracking match.

“Our boys are high on confidence after winning at Poole and we want to keep our run going. Confidence and momentum are so important in speedway.

“We’ve still got a chance to finish top. Last season, we led the Cab Direct Championship table for most of the season, only for Poole to take top spot after a late run. This season we have a chance to return the favour and steal top spot from the Pirates just ahead of the play-offs.”

OXFORD: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Ashton Boughen, Jordan Jenkins, Scott Nicholls, Luke Killeen, Connor Coles.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Jack Smith, Anders Rowe, Matic Ivacic, Leon Flint, James Pearson, Tom Spencer.
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
