PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
BIRMINGHAM host King’s Lynn at Perry Barr tonight (Monday) in the battle to avoid the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership wooden spoon.
The Brummies are on an 11-match losing sequence in the league, but their recent home defeats have all been by narrow margins, and they return to their full one-to-seven with Polish racer Piotr Pawlicki back from illness.
Meanwhile the Stars are unchanged from their defeat at Oxford last week with Norick Blodorn continuing as a guest for the injured Nicolai Klindt, and rider replacement is in operation for Benjamin Basso.
The visitors picked up their only away win of the season in the Second City earlier in the campaign, and they are five points clear of the Brummies with three matches in hand, as well as having a healthy advantage for the aggregate point.
Birmingham manager Sam Ermolenko said: “We’ve hit some form at home and I think that any team that comes to us, we should be able to push them.
“The frustration from being so close so many times is kind of firing us up now. We’ve just got to make sure we get it right at the end and finish the deal.”
Stars reserve Lewis Kerr said: “I’m glad to be back with the Stars for the rest of the season.
“Berwick’s meetings finished last weekend, so the more meetings the better for me, and I’ve got quite a few left for Lynn so it keeps me busy.
“It’s been very tough for the club, but for me personally I just want to keep riding this year, and being at reserve hopefully means some extra rides.”
