MORT’S MIGHTY MISSION

MANY people have helped to boost the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund in many ways, really putting themselves out and working hard to raise the much-needed funds for injured riders.

It is probably fair to say that no-one has ever undertaken quite such a difficult task as that facing Chris Morton, John Curtis, Derek Richardson and colleagues who will commence their sponsored cycle from Cardiff to Wroclaw which starts on Saturday.

“I can only think they must be mad,” commented SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd, “but I am very happy that they are.”

Those commencing the journey will be appearing at Cardiff, on track, early in Saturday’s British Grand Prix, where the fans will give them their send-off as the estimated two-week marathon commences.

It has already been announced that Ove Fundin and Marek Cieslak will be joining the others for the closing stages, and it is hoped to post news and video clips on srbf.co.uk during the journey.

You can support them and help them reach the £15,000 target by donating at www.gofundme,com/f/wales-to-wroclaw-ben-fund-mission
