PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v KING’S LYNN (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
BELLE Vue bid to extend their perfect home record when they entertain King’s Lynn at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Monday).
The Aces have top spot in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership in their sights and will take over from Ipswich at the summit if they defeat the Stars, as that would also give them the aggregate point.
The hosts are at full strength but the visitors travel without Tobaisz Musielak due to injury and Benjamin Basso due to a World Championship qualifier.
Richard Lawson stands in for Basso but the Stars’ plans to track Josh Pickering at No.1 were thwarted when he suffered a shoulder injury on Friday, and they therefore operate rider replacement.
Aces CEO Mark Lemon said: “I am very pleased with how our boys have started the season and though we could go top of the table tonight, that remains in our peripheral vision until after Heat 15.
“We approach this as we do every match, with focus and determination because, even with our fantastic home form, we’ll need to be prepared.”
Stars operations manager Dale Allitt said: “We’ve been through a number of potential replacements but with this meeting falling on the day of the World Championship qualifiers there are several who are ruled out for that reason, and others who can’t do it for various reasons.
“We do have riders who like Belle Vue and have gone well there in the past, and we felt r/r was the strongest option open to us. It’s not going to be easy at all, but the boys will go with a positive attitude and see what we can do.”
