PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v OXFORD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

BELLE Vue will look to maintain their strong home form when they host Oxford in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Monday).

The Aces are second in the table and could end the night top if leaders Ipswich miss out at Sheffield.

But the home side will face three of their former riders with Craig Cook potentially playing a key role at reserve, and Charles Wright and Rohan Tungate also featuring.

Tungate moves to No.1 for the Spires with Maciej Janowski’s new average seeing him now positioned at No.4.

Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “We will have to be on our toes against this Spires team as they bring with them a whole host of riders who know the NSS very well.

“I look at our form at home, though, and we are more than comfortable here, but that doesn’t pave the way for us to be complacent so, like I said, we will need to be on point from the start.

“Both sides, on paper, stack up to each other quite nicely but as far as in practice we will only find out when we get to the tapes, and I have faith in our boys to deliver.”

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “Belle Vue have a very strong home advantage so we need to keep positive and keep it as close as possible.

“Maciej has shown us what he is capable of with a great win over Tai Woffinden at Sheffield and he has made some further changes to his set-up, so hopefully Belle Vue is where he will hit his true form.”
