EDWARDS STARS AS BEARS PROGRESS

JASON Edwards scored his first maximum at senior level with a sensational display for Redcar as they won at Workington in the Cab Direct KO Cup.

Edwards racked up 14+1 from five rides as the Bears did far more than defend their first leg advantage, winning 50-40 on the day for a 23-point aggregate victory which secured a place in the semi-finals.

Guest Erik Riss completed a profitable weekend with 13+1 for his former full-time club, whilst Troy Batchelor top-scored for the Comets with eight as they exited the competition.
