CAB DIRECT CHAMPIONSHIP IS GO!

THE race for the Cab Direct Championship title gets underway this Friday (May 3), with the holders Glasgow in action on opening night.

The Tigers, who defeated Poole in the Grand Final last October to end the Pirates’ winning run in the league, are up against Workington at Ashfield.

Once again the hosts are forced into changes at reserve with Freddy Hodder and Jack Smith stepping in for Ace Pijper (injured) and Lee Complin (suspended).

Meanwhile the Comets, who have already picked up some big results on their return to this level, have the in-form Dan Thompson guesting for concussion victim Antti Vuolas.

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, James Pearson, Leon Flint, Paul Starke, Steve Worrall, Freddy Hodder, Jack Smith.
WORKINGTON: Craig Cook, Tate Zischke, Dan Thompson, Claus Vissing, Troy Batchelor, Sam McGurk, Celina Liebmann.

Meanwhile Redcar have called upon the services of former Bears favourite Erik Riss to stand in for the injured Danny King against Scunthorpe.

Nathan Ablitt remains on the sidelines for the Scorpions, with Ashton Boughen taking the guest booking at reserve at the Ecco Arena.

REDCAR: Charles Wright, Jonas Knudsen, Connor Bailey, Jason Edwards, Erik Riss, Jake Mulford, Ben Trigger.
SCUNTHORPE: Kyle Howarth, Connor Mountain, Simon Lambert, Michael Palm Toft, Jake Allen, Ashton Boughen, Luke Harrison.

We’d like to once again place on record our thanks to Cab Direct for extending their title sponsorship of the Championship into a second season.

Their ‘car of the month’ is shown at the top of the screen, plus click below for their video showing the services they can offer.
