PREVIEW: OXFORD v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT KO CUP)

OXFORD manager Peter Schroeck insists a 12-point deficit is very much mission possible in their Cab Direct KO Cup clash with Glasgow tonight (Wednesday).

The Cheetahs lost 51-39 at Ashfield last week giving the Tigers an advantage to defend in the second leg of the quarter-final at Cowley.

Jack Smith was key to that result for Glasgow and he once again steps in at reserve with Connor Coles also taking a guest booking as the visitors are now without the injured Ace Pijper in addition to the suspended Lee Complin.

Schroeck said: “For the neutral this tie is perfectly poised. And there’s every chance it could go down to the last race, but our aim is to wrap up a result much sooner.

“Glasgow will be targeting the same – they won’t make it easy for us and have proven they can win races on our track, so we’ll need to be on it.

“The second half of Friday’s first leg was tough. We ran fourth places in seven of the last eight heats which hindered our progress but on home shale we’ll look to use that track knowledge to our advantage.”

OXFORD: Sam Masters, Henry Atkins, Cameron Heeps, Jordan Jenkins, Scott Nicholls, Ashton Boughen, Luke Killeen.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, James Pearson, Leon Flint, Paul Starke, Steve Worrall, Connor Coles, Jack Smith.
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
