BEWLEY: NO EXCUSES

BELLE Vue star Dan Bewley played down the effects of a tough weekend as the Aces lost out at Birmingham on Monday.

Bewley was on the receiving end of a 5-1 in the re-run of Heat 15 after team-mate Brady Kurtz had been disqualified, which meant the Brummies took their first win of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season.

The British Champion suffered a heavy crash in the Croatian Grand Prix on Saturday and was then involved in a road accident the following day – but he says his focus is firmly on finding top form.

Bewley said: “I couldn’t comment too much on the Heat 15 decision, but it was a tough one for us and that’s the way racing goes sometimes.

“It’s been a trying weekend for me, first with the crash in Croatia and then getting side-swiped on the road by a car, but that’s no excuse and I know that the fans expect more from me.

“But we’ve tried a few new things tonight and I think, moving forward, we’re gradually finding what works for us and people haven’t yet seen the best I have to offer.”
